Deco in Delhi

Deco in Delhi is an ongoing research project in the form of a digital archive of Art Deco spread across Delhi, with more concentration in its older parts. The style resides in few of the commercial, institutional and residential hidden in by-lanes, nooks and corners of Delhi, some still are actively being used while others abandoned. Although Art Deco hasn’t been able to seep through to influence today’s architectural styles in an obvious way, this is an attempt to document its existence in the capital before it completely disappears.

The second phase of the project will be to highlight the importance of having these kind of architectural styles/ movements and their role in bringing together different disciplines of design in responding to the context of its surroundings.
